Sven Väth World Tour
Sven Väth, who was born in the Chinese zodiac sign of the Dragon himself, started his 2012 World Tour just in time at the beginning of the cycle at the end of January in Singapore, and this time, Sven will also played in China two times, besides a gig in his favourite country Japan. After that, he, almost traditionally, headed to Australia. This is a little video diary documenting the atmosphere of Svens gigs.

Geometric Rooms by Esther Stocker
Italian installation artist Esther Stocker creates stunning geometric environments that can often be explored by the viewer. The construction of each piece appears to follow some type of strange equation, resulting in unusual linear patterns and planes that completely transform the physical pace.

An 80-Ton Bird’s Nest
The Clemson Clay Nest was a public land art installation by Bavarian artist Nils-Udo that was constructed in the botanical gardens at Clemson University in South Carolina in 2005. The nest was built with the assistance of numerous students and other volunteers using 80 tons of pine logs harvested from the local Oconee County pine plantation and hundreds of bamboo stocks that were carefully organized into a circular structure dug in gardens rich red clay. After two years the piece was eventually dismantled and the mulched trees were used to partially fill the large hole. You can see many more of the work in these photos by Dylan Wolfe.

Banksy Does Origami
A new Banksy piece popped up yesterday in the UK featuring an adeptly stenciled origami crane snagging a goldfish from a small canal. While the work has yet to appear on the artist’s website for positive verification, Street Art News seems to think it’s the real deal. Photos by the lonely villein.
Camera trickery abound in this clever short film shot in Hawaii by Ben Boutwell and Steven Alan. Somebody will turn this into a TV commercial in a few weeks.

Sand Paintings by Andres Amador
San Francisco-area landscape artist Andreas Amador etches massive sand drawings onto beaches during full moons when his canvas reaches its largest potential. Using only a rake and often several helpers the geometric and organic shapes are slowly carved into the sand, often interacting with the physical topography like the stones in a zen garden. The works exist for only a few moments, just long enough to snap a few photographs before being completely engulfed by the encroaching tide.
